Wozniacki closes in on No1 spot

TENNIS: Caroline Wozniacki will become the new women’s world No1 if she beats Czech Petra Kvitova in the last 16 of the China Open today.

The Dane eased past Sara Errani 6-4, 6-2 second round win over Sara Errani in Beijing yesterday and needs one more win to leapfrog Serena Williams at the top of the rankings.

Briton Andy Murray is also in action today, against Spain’s Albert Montanes.
