This Time Out survey claims London is NOT the most fun city in the world (because we’re hungover and lonely, apparently)

London is not the most fun city in the world.

This is the outrageous claim made by Time Out, which has today published a new ranking of cities by fun factor.

The UK capital, the study noted, is culturally vibrant but “feels a bit lonely (and has the most hangovers)”.

London falls below the following inferior cities: Chicago, Melbourne, Lisbon, New York, Madrid, Mexico City, Sao Paolo, Los Angeles and Barcelona.

The findings were based on a survey of 20,000 people across the 18 cities that were ranked.

London in numbers:

18 per cent of residents said the city is “on the up” right now

58 per cent said it was very tolerant

66 per cent said it was good for new things to do

76 per cent don’t get to make the most of what the city has to offer

25: Number of times Londoners visit the theatre or a museum

4.7: Number of nights out a month

£60: The average cost of a night out

1.2: Number of times a week Londoners “get nookie”, whatever that means, according to Time Out.

Commenting on London’s performance, Time Out editor-in-chief Caroline McGinn said: “We’ve got plenty going on in this amazing city, but many of us are feeling kind of lonely and hungover right now.”
