THREE OTHER EAST LONDON FAVOURITES

GREEN & RED
Buzzy and critically acclaimed Mexican restaurant and bar that’s full of hipsters guzzling the likes of octopus ceviche, cumin-roasted chicken wings and watermelon salad in the cantina. In the bar, they’re sipping from the 200-strong tequila menu. Great non-alcoholic drinks include hibiscus and tamarind juice. 51 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6LA, tel: 020 7749 9670

BISTROTEQUE
Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are said to eat at this chic, low-key East London restaurant serving simple and delicious French food. Brunch is a big deal here, and on Sundays it’s a lunch hub for the great and the good of Shoreditch who fancy a good roast. You can get three courses for £17.50, making it good value. 23-27 Wadeson Street, E2 9DR, tel: 020 8983 7900

LES TROIS GARCONS
An extraordinarily decadent interior makes this French restaurant instantly exciting – no wonder, as its sister is the super-flamboyant Lounge Lover, London’s most famous cocktail bar. Food is fine and expensive – three courses for £45.50. Think fricassée of Dorset snails and Sauternes-cured foie and you’ll understand why. 1 Club Row, E1 6JX, tel: 020 7613 1924
