A stylish new hotel comes to the Square Mile

There’s a new hotel in the City – and about time too. Considering the area’s global pre-eminence as a centre of finance and business, with people constantly jetting in from around the world to do deals, it’s surprising how light it’s been on good places for them to stay. That’s about to change thanks to luxury chain Apex, which is opening a brand new premises slap bang in the heart of the Square Mile. The Apex London Wall Hotel is a four star deluxe property on Copthall Avenue, halfway between Bank and Moorgate stations, with 89 luxury guest bedrooms and suites, a quintessentially British restaurant, a smart cocktail bar and an excellent fitness suite.

The smart, swanky rooms have been designed with both comfort and style in mind – think smooth contemporary lines, beautiful furniture, 40 inch LED screens and surround sound technology. And unlike many hotels, guests get free wi-fi in their rooms, so that they can continue carrying out their business without having to pay extra for the privilege.

No hotel is complete without a first-rate place to eat and drink, and the Off the Wall Lounge Bar and Restaurant is just the job. It’s a terrifically light and airy venue thanks to its double-height, floor-to-ceiling windows, and guests can expect an enticing menu of traditional British dishes prepared from ingredients sourced from the City’s wonderful food markets. The sleek bar, meanwhile, specialises in rum cocktails, and there’s an impressive range of creative, sophisticated cocktails and punches to suit all tastes.

Apex London Wall Hotel, 7-9 Copthall Avenue. Open Monday to Friday. Lunch 12pm-3pm, dinner 6pm-10pm.
