British Transport Police (BTP) said police were alerted to the incident just after 1pm.

"Officers have attended alongside the London Ambulance Service but a person has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene," BTP said.

"We are now working to identify the person and inform their family. We are not treating this incident as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
