Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola says he is unfussed about the prospect of Manchester United breaking the world transfer record on the Juventus midfielder.

The Premier League club are prepared to make former player Pogba football's first £100m man but Raiola, who also represents recent United acquisitions Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, says he only wants "the best for my players".

"I don't give a damn about record transfer fees," the 48-year-old super agent told Corriere dello Sport.

"The newspapers write that Pogba could set the record, but I've already set records with [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [Pavel] Nedved.

"I want the best for my players and therefore for Pogba too. I don't answer to anyone and I don't speak about my business. Certain things I only discuss with my clients and they know how things are."

Pogba walked out of Old Trafford four years ago after failing to agree personal terms with then manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Yet United are now prepared to pay over 100 times what they received in compensation from Juventus for the Frenchman, with new manager Jose Mourinho having earmarked him as a top target.

Should Mourinho and Ed Woodward land their man, United will also become the first English club in 20 years to own football’s expensive star and mark only the second time since the turn of the millennium that a club other than Los Blancos has held the record.
