MEX Exchange, the institutional electronic trading platform of MultiBank Group, today announced the appointment of Vibhanshu Bahuguna as Senior Director, reinforcing the company

With more than 20 years of experience across sales, business development and electronic trading, Bahuguna joins MEX Exchange with extensive expertise in electronic trading solutions spanning EMS, OMS, OTC and ECN technologies across the foreign exchange and digital asset markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Throughout his career, Vibhanshu has held senior leadership positions with some of the industry’s most renowned institutions. He began his career at Bloomberg before joining TradingScreen, where he delivered multi-asset trading access solutions. He later managed the Currenex and FX Connect franchise for State Street across Southeast Asia before leading TradAir’s Asia-Pacific business from 2015, driving the adoption of FX aggregation, pricing engine and white-label trading technology until the company’s acquisition by ION Group in 2022. Most recently, he headed Sales and Business Development at Cypator ECN, working alongside TradAir’s original co-founder to expand the platform’s institutional footprint.

David Ogg, Chief Executive Officer of MEX Exchange, said: “We are delighted to welcome Vibhanshu to the team. He brings an exceptional combination of commercial leadership, market expertise, and deep relationships across the institutional trading ecosystem. His experience in building and scaling electronic trading businesses across the Asia-Pacific region will be instrumental as we continue expanding MEX Exchange’s global presence.”

Commenting on his appointment, Vibhanshu Bahuguna said: “MEX Exchange represents one of the most exciting opportunities in institutional electronic trading today. The vision, technology and leadership assembled by the team provide a unique platform to redefine institutional market access, and I look forward to contributing to the next phase of the company’s growth.”

Bahuguna’s appointment further strengthens an already distinguished leadership team driving MEX Exchange’s institutional business.

The team is led by David Ogg, one of the most influential pioneers in institutional foreign exchange trading and widely recognised. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Ogg founded HotspotFX, the industry’s first institutional FX ECN, along with LavaFX and LiquiMatch, while leading groundbreaking innovations that have shaped today’s electronic trading landscape. Under his leadership, MEX Exchange is developing an institutional trading venue powered by AI-driven execution capabilities, ultra-low-latency matching technology and institutional-grade infrastructure designed to serve global market participants.

Complementing the leadership team is Brian Andreyko, Chief Product Officer, who brings extensive experience across global markets and electronic trading. Having held senior leadership roles at Edgewater Markets, TradAir, ICAP and Currenex, he now oversees the strategic development of MEX Exchange’s ECN, Technical Services and Execution Services businesses.

Together, the appointments reflect MEX Exchange’s continued investment in attracting industry-leading talent as it builds a next-generation institutional trading ecosystem that combines advanced technology, deep market expertise and global connectivity to meet the evolving needs of institutional clients worldwide.
