I sense that Tiger is lurking

JUST when we thought the wait was over, we were kept guessing more. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Fincham couldn’t confirm anything last night but I sense the will he/won’t he saga with Tiger Woods is coming to an end.

I’ve said all along that I think Tiger will return to play in all four Majors this year, given the fact he has remarkable records at each of the venues.

But there are strong rumours he could be back for the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill next weekend, and that wouldn’t surprise me with the Masters just around the corner.

When he does eventually come back he’ll have the dangerous proposition of a confident Ernie Els challenging him.

I couldn’t tell you how pleased I was to see the big man claim his first win in two years at the WGC-CA Championship – a win that lifts him back into the top ten. Ernie has been through some torrid times these last couple of years so it’s great to see him back on the top of his game.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to match Ernie’s feats at the Thailand Senior Masters where I, and the rest of the field, were simply blown away by a brilliant performance by home favourite Boonchu Ruangkit, who raced away a record 11-shot victory in the 100-degree heat.
