GOLF: England’s David Howell rolled back the years with a seven-under-par 64 to take the overnight lead on the opening day of the Irish Open.

Howell, without a Tour win in four years, leads Australian Richard Green and South Korea’s Seung-yul Noh by a shot, while Darren Clarke is among a cluster of players a further stroke adrift.
