Crowdfunding is the trend that just keeps giving and now one of the City’s own is striking out of banking and launching his own crowdfunding platform called CrowdShed. The person in question is ex-Investec, ex-Liberum investment manager Henry Freeman (pictured) and having handed in his notice at Investec almost exactly a year ago – his new platform is launched tomorrow.

“I’ve always had the entrepreneurial streak and I saw crowdfunding as a way of democratising what we do in the City,” he told The Capitalist.

The site officially launches with projects as diverse as a film starring Luke Perry (remember him?) and a group which aims to teach London’s kids First Aid.

What makes it different is CrowdShed has a physical space in Tottenham Court Road, where its budding entrepreneurs can work, launch projects and swap stories.
