A GOURMET END TO RAMADAN
Break the Ramadan fast in style at Malaysian restaurant Awana. Dishes include a date korma as well as roti canai, a Malaysian bread made from a traditional family recipe, and Satay Udang, fresh tiger prawn skewers served with a signature spicy peanut sauce. Feast available until 11 Sep, the last day of Ramadan. 85 Sloane Avenue, SW3, tel: 0207 584 8880.

HOT NEW FOODSPOTS AT THE BARBICAN
The Barbican is about to become one of the City’s foremost spots with the launch of the Foodhall and Lounge, which will offer everything from an Italian ham and parmesan sandwich to shrimp pad thai with grilled coconut relish. To take home are the finest deli items including immaculately-sourced oils. Upstairs, the Barbican Lounge will feature small plate menus and gourmet bar snacks such as steamed endamame or pepperabica peppers stuffed with feta and Greek country cheeses. The Dine & Dash menu guarantees dinner in 50 minutes, or your money back: handy if you’re catching a concert, and another highlight is London’s only macaroon mixologist, where the treats are twinned with cocktails. Barbican Foodhall and Lounge open 14 Sep. Barbican Centre, EC2Y. Tel: 0207 638 4141.
