NEED TO KNOW | CAMDEN

Commuting: Well located on the Northern line: 15 minutes by Tube to Bank or 9 minutes to Tottenham Court Road. Camden Road Overground station is nearby too.

Schools: Holy Trinity and Saint Silas CofE Primary School is a strong primary. Independent girls school St Margaret’s is top for GCSEs while South Hampstead High School shines at A-Level. Camden School for Girls (which also takes boys in the Sixth Form) is one of the top performing state secondary schools.
Crime: Worse than the national average, but this is inner London.

Restaurants & Pubs:
Camden has a long history of rock-star nightlife. Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse are known regulars (the latter at the Hawley Arms), and in the good old Britpop days, The Good Mixer on?Inverness Street was Blur and Oasis’ hangout of choice. Now, Camden is increasingly a culinary hotpost, with Gordon Ramsay’s York and Albany, Ian Pengelley’s Gilgamesh and the new South African restaurant and club, Shaka Zulu.

Parks & Leisure: Regent’s Park is nearby, and Hampstead Heath, if you fancy a stroll, is in the area.
