The euro rose above $1.50 yesterday for the first time since August 2008 as expectations that the Federal Reserve would hold US interest rates very low for some time yet continued to weigh on the dollar. The euro rose to $1.5003,  its highest in about 14 months. It was last trading at $1.4989, up 0.3 per cent from late Tuesday.
