Eagle Eye wins contract with Canadian supermarket giant Loblaw

Eagle Eye Solutions, an Aim-listed retail and hospitality voucher firm backed by Sir Terry Leahy, has won a significant contract with Canadian supermarket chain Loblaw to assist it with its digital promotions.

Eagle Eye, whose clients also include Sainsbury's and Asda, said that Loblaw represented its first major international client and would contribute material revenue over the next few years.

"We are thrilled to be selected by Loblaw as their partner for this solution. Winning a third tier one grocer is a major endorsement of the benefits that the Eagle Eye Air platform delivers," chief executive Phill Blundell said.

The group separately posted a 30 per cent rise in revenues to £3m for the six months to 31 December, with transaction revenues from its Air Platform – the platform that will be used by Loblaw – rising by 108 per cent year-on-year at £1.6m.

Eagle Eye said progress against strategic milestones remained on track but revenue for the first half of the year was lower than management expectations, mainly due to a delay in certain contract implementations and the phasing of new business wins

"Nevertheless, the roll out into Asda stores and our earlier than expected major international contract award demonstrates we are continuing to successfully source new opportunities," it said.

The company also recently appointed former Tesco deputy chief executive Tim Mason as its new chairman.
