TOTTENHAM goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is fighting to save his career after suffering “potentially life-changing injuries” in a serious motorbike crash yesterday.

The 36-year-old shot-stopper was taken to hospital after his BMW superbike was involved in a smash with a Ford Fiesta in Walthamstow, at around 10.30am.

Cudicini fractured both of his wrists and injured his pelvis in the accident and was undergoing tests last night, under the supervision of Spurs’ medical staff, to determine the extent of his injuries.

A club statement read: “Carlo Cudicini has fractured his wrists and injured his pelvis after being involved in a road accident this morning.

“The 36-year-old Italian goalkeeper has been admitted to hospital and undergone scans under the supervision of club medical staff.”

Cudicini joined Spurs from Chelsea in January and has made eight appearances as understudy to Heurelho Gomes.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: “A 36-year-old male suffered injuries described by the London Ambulance Service as possibly life-changing and was taken to an east London hospital for further assessment and treatment. No arrests have been made.”

The female driver and child passenger in the Fiesta escaped unhurt.
