The law firm has elected Andrew Forryan as the new London leader for its capital markets practice, for a period of four years.
Forryan, who takes over from David Bickerton, recently elected as the firm’s regional managing partner in the UK and Middle East, has been a partner at Clifford Chance since 1997. He specialises in the financing and securitisation of real estate, whole businesses and loan receivables and restructurings.

The investment bank has appointed David Owen as a managing director and chief European financial economist within its fixed income group, responsible for analysing and predicting trends within the European government debt market and broader fixed income markets.

Owen joins from Dresdner Kleinwort, where he worked for 23 years and was most recently a managing director and chief economist for the developed markets.

Lupus Capital

The engineering investment company, which ousted entrepreneur Greg Hutchings as executive chairman in July, has installed former Foseco boss Jamie Pike as its new non-executive chairman.

Michael Jackson, who became non-executive chairman at the time of Hutchings’ exit, will revert to being a non-executive director.

Pike, who is also chairman of RPC Group, MBA Polymers and the Defence Support Group, will receive a salary of £90,000 a year for his pains and is contracted to serve at least four days a month.

SWIP

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has appointed James Taylor to its global bonds team as an investment director for government bonds.

Taylor joins from Gulf International Bank UK, where he was head of fixed income portfolios. Prior to that, he spent nine years working on the fixed income team at Morley Fund Management.

Delmore Asset Management

The asset manager has hired Peter Stanyer as economist and strategist to help lead the firm’s new private wealth strategic advisory service, Delmore Strategic Advisers.

Stanyer began his career as an economist with the Bank of England and is a former managing director with the private client division of Merrill Lynch.

Ambition

The recruitment group has appointed Paddy Burtt as associate director of the financial services temporary and contract business at its UK subsidiary, Witan Jardine, which it acquired in January 2008.
