City Moves for 15 April 2019 – Who’s switching jobs at Herbert Smith Freehills, Trussle and Osborne Clarke?

Today's City Moves includes Herbert Smith Freehills, Trussle and Osborne Clarke.

Herbert Smith Freehills

Herbert Smith Freehills partner Chris Bushell has been elected as the new vice-president of The London Solicitors Litigation Association (LSLA). Chris, who is also the organisation’s membership secretary, is a former member of the Junior LSLA Committee and has been actively involved with the LSLA for over 10 years. He became a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills in 2014 and has been recognised in the leading directories, particularly for his work involving banks and financial buyers. During his tenure as vice-president of the LSLA, Chris will be working alongside other members to continue the thematic reform work pursued in previous years. In particular, Chris is a member of the working group led by Justice Popplewell, which is in the process of reviewing the current rules and practice and making recommendations for potential reform of the procedures for factual witness evidence in the Business and Property Courts.

Trussle

Trussle, the UK’s first online mortgage broker, has announced appointment of two senior hires to the executive board. Veteran banker, Simon Williams, and product technology executive, Supriya Uchill, have joined the company as it enters a major expansion phase. With more than 30 years of financial services experience, Simon spent nine years at Citigroup, heading up its international retail bank and more recently, serving as head of HSBC’s Wealth Management group until 2014. Over the last 10 years, Simon has been involved with successful fintech businesses, including Lendingclub, Ondeck Capital, Nerdwallet, and Crowdcube. Supriya Uchil is the first appointee to Trussle’s advisory board. Supriya, who has over 20 years of experience in tech companies including Amazon and Zynga, is working with the leadership team to improve the customer journey throughout the mortgage process.

Osborne Clarke

International legal practice Osborne Clarke bolsters its UK IP disputes Team with new partner Will James, a high-profile patent litigator who joins from Marks & Clerk Law.
