Circle in on Asymmetric in Richmond
TRAINER Alan King has already enjoyed a fantastic week after Trueshan’s win in the Goodwood Cup on Tuesday and he looks to have a great chance of further success in the Richmond Stakes (2.25pm) on Thursday.
He saddles ASYMMETRIC – a colt very much going places based on his three appearances so far.
The son of Showcasing took a bit of time to get the hang of things over course on distance on debut, but got up late to beat Mojomaker, who bolted up by six lengths on his subsequent outing giving the form a solid look.
He then did what he had to under a penalty in another novice contest on Newmarket’s July course, before tackling much better opposition in the Group 2 July Stakes.
Last at the two-furlong pole, King’s colt cruised through a host of talented rivals and was only just touched off by a head.
He did it in the style of a very good horse and there is surely more to come at 11/4.
Gubbass is two-from-two, including in the Super Sprint at Newbury last time, and should go well, but the one I’m going to throw in the World Pool Quinella with Tote.co.uk is GIS A SUB, trained by Kevin Ryan, another handler amongst the winners this week.
He showed a really good attitude on debut at York when just beaten by a subsequent winner and followed up by taking a conditions race at Pontefract next time.
The horse he beat that day, Hellomydarlin, was third to the highly-promising Atomic Force in a Group 2 in France, so there is plenty of substance to Gis A Sub’s form.
