Commuting: Blackheath or Westcombe Park overground stations provide quick access into the City. In 12 minutes the train from Blackheath arrives at London Bridge Station. Buses take substantially longer, taking over an hour. Cycling in, however, takes only 40 minutes.

Schools: The area has a number of good independent schools. Blackheath High School, an independent day school for girls aged 3-18 years, consistently scores highly. Blackheath Bluecoat, a co-educational, Church of England state school, also does reasonably well.

Crime: The crime levels in this area are similar to that of the rest of London.

Bars and restaurants: Blackheath has a number of good restaurants including the Chapters restaurant that serves modern European food and the Buenos Aires Cafe that offers a high quality Argentinean menu.
