Johnson targets Euro 2012
ADAM JOHNSON has his sights set on making England’s 2012 European Championship squad after missing out on the World Cup.

The Manchester City winger was one of seven players axed when Fabio Capello named his 23-man squad.

“I am going to have a rest now and then get ready to try and work my way into the side for September qualifiers,” the 22-year-old said. “The England management made it clear I have an international future.”

Algerians trim down squad
ENGLAND’S group stage opponents, Algeria, have confirmed their 23-man squad for the World Cup.

Goalkeeper Mohamed Zemmamouche was the only member of the original 25-man party to be left out, while Lazio midfielder Mourad Meghni misses out through injury.

Le Guen warning for Lions
CAMEROON coach Paul Le Guen insists his side need a big improvement if they are to succeed in South Africa.

The Indomitable Lions lost 3-1 defeat to Portugal in a warm-up game on Tuesday in a game which saw star striker Samuel Eto’o sent off.
