Wolves stunned by Blues
FOOTBALL: Birmingham advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup after a 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux last night. The Carling Cup holders, relegated to the Championship last season, beat their Premier League rivals and near neighbours courtesy of Wade Elliot’s 74th minute strike which earned his side a crack at League One outfit Sheffield United in the last 32. Meanwhile, non-league Wrexham took Championship high-flyers Brighton to a penalty shoot-out following a 1-1 draw. But Gus Poyet’s men kept their nerve to win 5-4 and set up a trip to Newcastle in the fourth round.
