Wimbledon fails to sell tickets despite ending curbs
Wimbledon are struggling to sell tickets, despite announcing they would be the first sporting venue to host crowds at full capacity.
The all England club is typically oversubscribed every year as tennis fans rush to see the likes of Roger Federer and Andy Murray at the sport’s flagship tournament.

However, there are still spare tickets for the venue’s major courts – even on Saturday, when the ladies’ singles final is set to take place.
Ground tickets sales have been lacklustre this year, with only 28,668 people out of a maximum of 42,000 turning up.
The all England club attributed the poor sales figures to fans not being able to take time off and being unaware of available tickets.
Tennis fans can only purchase tickets through Wimbledon’s official website.
Tickets are still available for the women’s semi-finals on Thursday.
