Pinterest
All eyes have now shifted to picture-sharing site Pinterest, with some commentators saying the firm’s meteoric rise prompted Facebook’s Instagram bid. The female-oriented site is slick and very addictive.

Tumblr
If Instagram is worth $1bn, blogging site Tumblr could fetch an eye-watering sum. It is incredibly popular, hosting almost 50m blogs and attracting more than 14m unique hits a month.

Spotify
Things looked a little shaky for the music-streaming service for a while. However, after sealing a deal to launch in the US and generating millions of new users by partnering with Facebook, it looks very tempting right now.

Dropbox
The incredibly useful cloud storage site will certainly be turning some Silicon Valley heads. It is one of those “how did I live without it?” services and would integrate seamlessly with services from Google or Apple.
