Where to eat in… Fitzrovia, from morning coffee to evening feast

Fitzrovia has it all, really. It has the buzz of a proper night on the town, but it’s quieter than Soho, cheaper than Mayfair and cooler than Marylebone. It’s filled with both powerhouses of the London restaurant scene and enought independent places that you can always find somewhere new (and not fully booked). Let us guide you through a perfect day eating in Fitzrovia.

Breakfast: Caravan

Open from 8am Monday to Saturday and 9am on Sunday, Caravan is the perfect place to start the day. One of London’s top coffee roasters, you’re guaranteed an award-winning flat white to start your day, which you can promptly follow up with a selection of fruit and grain bowls, avocado on toast or a delicious fry-up. Book here.

Brunch: Mac and Wild

Mac and Wild is one of those restaurants that feels perfect for City types, with its combination of effortless style and exceptional produce. A celebration of all things Scottish, it’s a wonderful blend of top-level cooking and comfort food. The Fitzrovia brunch menu includes delights such as haggis pops and the famous Venimoo burger, stacking venison and beef patties. This is as hearty a brunch as you’re likely to find. Book here.

Dinner: Mere

For a shift towards something a little more refined, check out Monica Galetti’s wonderful Mere. Serving dishes that combine classical French cooking with the South Pacific influences from Galetti’s Samoan heritage, Mere is a genuinely unique concept, with the quality of the food at the very top level of the London restaurant scene. Book here.
