Watford set to replace Jokanovic as managerial chaos continues

PREMIER League-bound Watford are set to replace manager Slavisa Jokanovic with Getafe boss Quique Sanchez Flores despite the former Chelsea midfielder guiding the Hornets to English football’s top flight.

Watford are understood to have made an official approach for Flores, who won the 2010 Europa League while in charge of Atletico Madrid after beginning his coaching odyssey with Real Madrid’s youth team nine years earlier.

The 50-year-old, a right-back with Valencia, Real Madrid and Zaragoza during his playing days, subsequently moved into the hotseat at Getafe before managing Valencia, Benfica and Middle East sides Al-Ahli and Al-Ain.

Jokanovic became Watford’s fourth manager of their Championship season in October when he replaced Billy McKinlay after the Scot took charge of just two matches. But his contract is due to expire at the end of next month and talks are believed to have stalled over his demands.
