Victoria Station has been reopened after a fire alert at the start of rush hour this morning.

The station was evacuated after a fire alarm went off at around 7:15am and the Circle, District and Victoria Lines did not stop at the station for well over half an hour.

People were also unable to access National Rail trains during the alert.

Transport for London advised commuters to take alternative routes, saying tickets would be accepted on local buses. However some buses were diverted because of the fire alert.

Unsurprisingly, commuters were not particularly happy about the closure of this busy Tube and train station just as rush hour was hotting up.
