The US State Department has entered into an agreement to sell its embassy, located in Grosvenor Square to Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. The US Embassy is set to move to an area of Wandsworth, with greater security and it is hoped that construction will begin in 2012 with the project to be completed by 2016 or 2017. The US will continue to occupy the Chancery in Grosvenor Square until the relocation is complete.
