UK weather forecast: Showers to batter Brits until Sunday after rainfall causes travel havoc
UK faces days of downpours after almost a month’s worth of rain fell across Britain in just 12 hours.
Some areas were drenched with above 50mm of rainfall yesterday, according to the Met Office. That was only around an inch off the total rainfall in September.

The Met Office warned that the wet weather will continue all week across parts of the UK, while in London showers are due until Sunday.
“Early rain, some perhaps heavy, will ease to become light and patchy,” the weather body said of today’s London forecast.
“Skies should brighten during the afternoon, although the sunshine could spark off one or two sharp showers.”
Patchy rain is set to fall tonight followed by more showers on Thursday morning, until it grows sunnier in the afternoon.
The weekend will bring sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday, with a brighter Saturday until heavy showers resume on Sunday.
The temperature, at least, will be mild, ranging from 18C to 21C.

Rain yesterday caused flooding and delays at transport hubs such as Victoria station. Water poured through the ceiling of Liverpool Street station while parts of Birmingham suffered flooding.
Wiltshire recorded the most rainfall, hitting 55.8mm as downpours continue to hit the UK.
