Fresh strikes by London Underground drivers look set to go ahead as the long-running row over Night Tube working conditions continues.

Executives of drivers' union Aslef are expected to call for three days of strikes tomorrow, starting as soon as this month, in the dispute which has already brought London grinding to a halt several times over the past year.

The planned dates, starting from around 9pm are:

  • Wednesday 27 January
  • Monday 15 February
  • Wednesday 17 February

RMT union is also balloting members over strike action, as both unions claim there have been no negotiations with Transport for London since November.

They rejected TfL's latest offer of hiring part-time drivers, as well as extending a previous three-year pay deal of a two per cent pay rise followed by RPI or one per cent in the second and third year, into a fourth year of RPI plus 0.25 per cent. A £500 bonus was also on the table.

Union sources told City PM they believe the Night Tube will "wither on the vine" with London mayor Boris Johnson's imminent exit from City Hall leaving the row unlikely to be resolved. However, TfL have insisted it is confident an agreement can be reached.
