A Paddington signal failure has left the District Line with severe delays between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road this morning.

While a good service is running on the rest of the line, Transport for London (TfL) told passengers that their tickets would be accepted on Zone 1 buses.

Severe delays were affecting anticlockwise Circle Line trains while Transport for London (TfL) fixed the problem, though now the line is running with minor delays.

Meanwhile commuters on the London Overground were dealing with a reduced service between Gospel Oak and Barking this morning, with trains running every half an hour and buses drafted in every 30 minutes.

Recent data revealed the Tube lines with the most delays, with the District Line proving to be the worst offender in 2018, when it racked up 198 instances of delays lasting 15 minutes or more.

The Waterloo & City Line, by contrast, only had 24 such delays.
