Severe delays have hit the Central Line this morning, causing havoc for commuters as they make their way into work.

Transport for London (TfL) blamed a faulty train at Mile End, telling passengers to use alternative routes where possible.

Tickets are being accepted on London buses and Greater Anglia services and on TfL Rail between Shenfield and Liverpool Street.

Severe delays have also hit the London Overground after a traspasser on the track at denmark Hill.

Services are affected between Highbury & Islington and Clapham Junction, New Cross, Crystal Palace and West Croydon.

It comes after a man was sent to hospital with a broken shoulder and head injury after being attacked at Stratford station this morning, reportedly with a hammer.
