Tube delays: Commuters face miserable journey as faulty King’s Cross train disrupts Victoria Line

The Victoria Line has been hit with severe delays this morning, causing disruption to a key Tube route for Londoners.

A faulty train at King’s Cross was behind the issue, Transport for London (TfL) said.

Engineers are trying to fix the train but TfL advised commuters that their tickets would be accepted on local buses, Greater Anglia trains and the London Overground.

It comes a day after mayhem on the Jubilee Line when a power supply system suffered problems yesterday.

Meanwhile a reduced London Overground service continues today, with only four-carriage trains running between Gospel Oak and Barking every half an hour.

The disruption comes as train staff consider a summer shutdown on London’s Tube.

RMT and Aslef are both set to ballot members over strike action after rejecting TfL’s latest pay offer of a 2.5 per cent raise.

Aslef dismissed it as “way below” members’ expectations after RMT threatened “London-wide” industrial action as the dispute grows increasingly bitter.

A TfL spokesperson said: “We have held discussions with our unions to agree a new pay deal. We believe that our offer is fair and affordable and look forward to the discussions continuing."
