Travel chaos as Waterloo & City line suspended as Thameslink travel woes continue

The sentence commuters dread to hear on a Monday morning has been tweeted by Waterloo & City today.

“No service on the line while we fix a faulty train.”

Transport for London has issued scant detail as to what the problem is.

However, an announcer on the line itself said service had been suspended because a train “with no air in its brakes” had got stuck entering the station.

Meanwhile, still no joy for commuters travelling on the Thameslink service between Brighton and Bedford or Bedford to Surrey, where the trains have been made up of four coaches rather than eight – with delays of more than two hours on services since 5:44am this morning.

Thameslink explained it was partly as a result of trains being damaged by the floods and an “earlier overrun of engineering works”.

But disgruntled travellers – who have put up with more than a week of chaos as a result of the Farringdon floods – are not impressed.
