FOOTBALL: Torquay United returned to the Football League after a two-year absence thanks to a 2-0 play-off final victory over Cambridge United at Wembley.

Captain Chris Hargreaves put the Gulls in front with a sweet 18-yard strike before Cambridge were reduced to 10 men when Phil Bolland was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Tim Sills then sealed victory with a second late on to condemn the U’s to a second successive play-off final defeat after losing to Exeter last season.
