If you were looking for an unbiased view of the King’s Stand today, you’re in the wrong place!

I am of course talking about my mum’s horse Sole Power who is trying to become the first horse ever to win the King’s Stand three years on the trot.

All I can tell you is he’s flying at home, everything looks set for a big run and if he does put his best foot forward, I think he wins.

Solow looks worth a proper bet in the first race. He has to beat Able Friend, but I think Solow will have his measure. And, sure, even if he doesn’t we’re giving money back as a free bet on the second and third in the race – he surely can’t be out of the three.

The second one to get behind is Jim Bolger’s Round Two. It’s public knowledge that Bolger thinks this is one of the better ones he has had.

The one chance the bookies have, I think, is getting Gleneagles chinned. He may have won two Guineas but in Ireland he wasn’t really that impressive and I loved everything about Make Believe’s French Guineas win.

It could be a good day for the Irish, as I think Willie Mullins might strike once again in the Ascot Stakes with Clondaw Warrior, who should like the conditions, and has Ryan Moore in the saddle.

In the lucky last it’s worth siding with Steady Pace for Godolphin. He’ll love the fast and furious pace and can pounce late at decent odds.

Go Sole Power!
