THREE OTHER MARYLEBONE GEMS

RISTORANTE SEMPLICE
Possibly the best Italian restaurant in London, mainly for being so under-hyped. The dining room evokes swirls of honey, thanks to some great textured walls, and the food is simply knockout. Do not miss the saffron risotto, a Milanese dish that glows and tastes as good as gold. Wine and cheese are tops, too. 9-10 Blenheim Street, W1S 1LJ. Tel: 020 7495 1509

LE RELAIS DE VENISE L’ENTRECOTE
One of Paris’s favourite institutions came to London a few years back. The menu is salad, steak in special green sauce with chips, followed by pudding of profiteroles or ice cream. Wash it down with red wine, a fixed price, (£19 for two courses) and a bistro-style interior and you’ve got one of the nicest dinner spots in town. 120 Marylebone Lane, W1U 2QG, www.relaisdevenise.com

ORRERY
Chef Igor Tymchyshyn, previously of Mirabelle, supplies a delightful seasonal menu of all the best bits of France – think assiette of foie gras, escalope, beef Rossini and plenty of other French gooies, with wines to match. The room is also a lovely airy space. 55 Marylebone High Street, W1U 5RB, Tel: 020 7616 8000
