Less well publicised than nearby rivals Nobu,?Zuma and Umu, Sumosan has a particular type of high-octane glamour. Those in the know swear by the place for its delectible sushi, beautifully presented raw fish salads and impeccably cooked meat. NOBU BERKELEY SQUARE
Nobu’s mothership at the Metropolitan Hotel was London’s original modern celebrity restaurant, frequented by Madonna and Victoria Beckham. It was so successful that it had to open this outpost in Mayfair, which consistently dazzles with top class sushi and Nobu’s famous black cod. The sake doesn’t come cheap.

UMU
Arguably the finest and most authentic Japanese restaurant in London, Umu earned plaudits – and a Michelin star – for being the only Kyoto restaurant in the UK (or so it says).
