THREE OTHER HEALTHY RESTAURANTS

SAF
152-154 Curtain Rd, EC2A 3AT. Tel: 020 7613 0007
London’s chicest vegan restaurant (it calls itself a “botanical” for crying out loud) is for hipsters, not hippies. A rainbow of juices, cocktails and organic and biodynamic wine accompany food like courgette pad thai, nut cheeses, mushroom stews, parsnip sushi and beetroot ravioli. Cleansing options include kale and avocado salad and for a unique brunch dish, there’s scrambled tofu with paprika potatoes. Sounds odd? It looks – and tastes – beautiful.

CLARKE’S
122 & 124 Kensington Church Street, W8 4BH. Tel: 020 7221 9225
Sally Clarke has been churning out wholesome but high-brow food for years, and is famous for her “no choice four course dinner”. She also has a shop, bakery and online store – all with her signature sourcing of the freshest, finest ingredients around. Check the website for this week’s menus, which includes delights such as grilled Cornish squid and grilled pale aubergine with mozzarella, basil and oven-dried tomatoes.

OTTOLENGHI
Flagship: 287 Upper Street, N1 2TZ, tel: 020 7288 1454

With salads that manage to look just as tempting as the to-die-for desserts, this place (there are three branches) screams health, style and ethics in one. The Mediterranean menu is full of lemon, pomegranate, garlic and chilli, and all of it is made from scratch from raw ingredients, most of them organic and sourced in the UK or, if necessary, Europe. Think perfectly grilled aubergine with goat’s cheese, broccoli and almond salad and the best meringues in town.
