Gold Cup day and all the talk will be about Kauto or Denman. It should be a fantastic race to watch, but possibly not the betting opportunity I’m looking for.

However, the JCB Triumph Hurdle is always a race I like to get stuck into and this year is no exception. As such, the house cleaning budget will be making its way onto Nicky Henderson’s SOLDATINO (10%) which I believe has an outstanding chance. Carlito Brigante is the main danger and I can see the two flashing past the post clear of the field.

I was going to chalk up ERADICATE (5% e/w) in last weekend’s Imperial Cup but the stable decided to hold him back for the Vincent O’Brien County Hurdle and I’m hoping that this will be a profitable move. Based on jockey bookings, this is possibly not the stable first string. However, he will be ridden by Paul Carberry so I cannot complain.

TELL MASSINI (7.5%) will hopefully be something we haven’t seen too much of this week, a winning favourite. Tom George has his string in fine form and I will be backing him to bring home the bacon.

SOLDATINO (10%), ERADICATE (5% e/w), TELL MASSINI (7.5%), TRICKY TRICKSTER (3% betting without the big two, see oddchecker.com), ROULEZ COOL (2%), CLOVA ISLAND (1% e/w), FIGHTING CHANCE (1% e/w)
