WE HAD a good week with the column last week, backing Goldolphin’s Sand Vixen to win the Flying Childers and laying Luca Cumani’s Seta in the May Hill. Seta is definitely very promising and it was encouraging to hear Kieren Fallon’s positive noises for the future after the race, but it showed again that wide margin maiden victories can often be deceiving.

Kieren has come back with a bang and his ride on STRIKE THE DEAL at Donny last week was out of the very top drawer. Jeremy Noseda’s four-year-old turns out again in the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free World Trophy at Newbury tomorrow (3.25pm) and with the yard bang in form, he can make it two from two under Fallon.

Richard Hughes makes his long awaited comeback from suspension at the Berkshire venue tomorrow and he can get off the mark at the first attempt with Richard Hannon’s LA PANTERA (1.50pm). She won her maiden impressively at Goodwood in May and her stable always target this meeting.

For those of you who cannot wait until tomorrow, King Kieren can win again with AUDACITY OF HOPE at Newmarket (3.05pm) this afternoon. Nothing really went right for him at Doncaster, but he still won going away and should be too good for this bunch.

I am also looking forward to tonight’s City PM free roll and collecting the $500. See you at 8.00 pm at poker.williamhill.com, password cityam.
