WE’VE HAD a couple of good weeks and we need to make sure that we don’t lose the winning feeling. FROZEN POWER in the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes (2.30pm) at Ascot tomorrow looks like a good animal but I’m not sure that his last run in France was that hot. Most of the recent two-year-old races run the other side of the Channel have been a bit disappointing and I think our two-year-old crop are rather better than theirs. As such, I’m willing to lay this Godolphin power house as I expect him to open shorter than 5/2 – someway below my tissue.

Depending on the market I may fancy a bit each way on BIG AUDIO who came back to winning form last time out and has won on the course, but only if he is priced up greater than 9/1.

In the Challenge Cup Handicap at 3.40pm on the same card, AKHENATEN can claim a win for the three-year-olds over the older horses. We are definitely at the right time of year for the three-year-olds, this horse is in good form and possibly has a fair draw in nine. 25/1 or bigger is a great price.

Today there is a big fillies only sales race at Ascot (3.10pm) with the winner receiving £123,100. The only filly officially rated over 100 is SHAMANDAR and she must be backed to win this event. She is getting weight from her only threat on the official handicap, as the amount they carry is based on the price paid for them at auction.

A possible outsider for a place is PERFECT CH’I (e/w).
