I can’t claim that Doncaster has been my most successful track but I’m hoping that this week’s forays into the betting ring will prove more successful. The two-year-old form in England this year has been dominated by Richard Hannon and there is no doubt that Zebedee will try and uphold the stable’s wonderful form.

However, I don’t think that the Flying Childers, this afternoon at 1.35pm, will be going to the East Everleigh maestro. In fact, I can’t see past NEW PLANET who will be ridden by champion jockey Ryan Moore (5pts win).

Jean-Claude Rouget runs the French filly KERATIYA in this race and on all known form I just don’t think she is good enough but the master French trainer ran her in a Group 1 last time, so he must think she is something special. If she happens to be an outrageous price, 10/1 or better, I will be taking some of it each-way (2pts e/w at 10/1 or better).
I don’t want to get trapped into backing anything strongly in the Ladbrokes St Leger tomorrow. On the book Rewilding should win and don’t let me put you off, but my money will be on CORSICA (0.5pts e/w at 66/1). At 3.55pm on the same card Eddie Stobart sponsor the Park Stakes. Frankie Dettori gave SHAKESPEAREAN a good ride at Newbury to win the Hungerford Stakes and he can dictate things once again (2pts win).
