Last weekend we had a winner at 9/2 but also a narrow miss with a second place. It was the disappointing Aeroplane who let us down but he is back out again tomorrow in the 3.10pm at Lingfield.

Maybe the mistake was to think this come-from-behind runner could win over a mile – something he has never done before – but it also might have been because the pace wasn’t as fierce as I thought. Either way, he definitely could bounce back tomorrow over his favoured seven furlongs.

However, I’m going to back ATLANTIC STORY who I think will go one place better than his close second behind Elna Bright last weekend.

Peter Hedger had a short break from his training career but he was back last season and was able to muster a 29 per cent strike rate from a handful of runners on the flat. The year has started in the same vein and it can continue tomorrow in the 2.40pm at Lingfield with the improving LISAHANE BOG.

Peter is a true gentlemen and I hope his luck continues. BAYLINI (e/w) hasn’t been a regular racecourse visitor for the past eight months but I think this grey mare is in-line for another visit to the winner’s enclosure tomorrow at 3.40pm at Lingfield. James Doyle and Sophie Doyle have been regular pilots but tomorrow Hayley Turner is in the saddle to hopefully steer this one home.
