The City View: Jack Inglis on the evolution of the hedge fund

By: Harry Banks

In this episode Christian is joined by Jack Inglis, CEO of the Alternative Investment Management Association which represents funds from 60 countries with more than $2 trillion under management between them. Jack talks about how hedge funds have responded to the market volatility and economic disruption of recent months, and offers a robust defence of short-selling — a practice temporarily banned by several European countries.

Also in this episode, Christian looks at the latest noise coming from the Brexit negotiations; Ikea’s plan to return public money used to support the business during the lockdown; and Microsoft’s decision to change its techie terminology in light of anti-racism concerns.
