In this episode, Christian talks to Dame Helena Morrissey – one the City’s most influential and well-known fund managers. From life under lockdown with nine children to the challenges facing the investment industry, Dame Helena offers a candid and typically insightful look at our new reality and the forces shaping our economy.

She also raises questions about how businesses will adapt to life after coronavirus and reveals what she misses most about life on the outside.

Dame Helena, who was in the running to replace Mark Carney as Bank of England governor, has become one of the most high-profile leaders in Canada.

Her career in fund management has involved directing tens of billions of pounds worth of assets and has provided her with a campaigning platform which she has used to champion women in business – founding the 30 Per Cent Club to campaign for more female representation on company boards.

For Dame Helena, diversity is about more than gender. Her passion for diversity of thought and opinion has made her one of the most thought-provoking and influential leaders in corporate Britain. She received her Damehood in 2017 for services to diversity in financial services.

In conversation with Christian, Dame Helena discusses the ways in which corporate Britain will change as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. How will fund managers adapt to new economic conditions? How are markets changing? How will leaders respond to a workforce which has found new ways of working? How have politicians and central bankers responded to the coronavirus crisis?
