For many Londoners, the commute into work is one of the most stressful parts of the day – perhaps behind doing the laundry. Now both are being made stress-free with new eco-laundry vending machines that are being rolled out across various Tube stations.

Transport for London (TfL) is today launching VClean Life's first 24 hour machines to allow time-constrained commuters the chance to drop off their dirty laundry and have them dry cleaned for £3 per item, available to collect the next day.

The first VDrops vending machines will hit Epping station this Saturday, with more cropping up in stations such as Loughton, South Woodford and Woodford.

As well as being eco-friendly – the machines use biodegradable detergent – they are also tech friendly, allowing users to track their garments via mobile or online through the use of cameras, barcodes and radio-frequency identification technology.

Nick Harris, managing director and founder of VClean Life comments: ”We are transforming the dirty dry cleaning sector, by making green cleaning accessible with VDrops now hitting the high street. There is nothing else like this on the market. In just 24 hours customers will receive a premium service at ridiculously cheap prices, with 200 machines being rolled out across London in coming months, before going national. We are thrilled that Transport for London will be the first to roll them out to commuters across the capital.”
