Tech enthusiasts plot Black Friday spending spree, planning £425 of purchases

Tech enthusiasts are planning to go wild this Black Friday, according to a new study.

Some 60 per cent of those surveyed by media company Future said they were planning to make a purchase this year, compared with 34 per cent who did so last year.

And they plan to spend an average £425, up 53 per cent from £278 on Black Friday 2015.

The findings were based on a survey of more than 1,700 Future website and magazine readers. Future publishes titles such as Tech Radar and PC Gamer.

The survey also found male respondents are willing to spend £434 on Black Friday, compared with £336 among women.

Some 48 per cent of those surveyed are on the look-out for video games, 34 per cent for PCs and laptops, 30 per cent for audio and hi-fi gear, 29 per cent for clothes and footwear and 29 per cent also for cameras and photography accessories.
