Green rejects Hammers offer
WEST HAM goalkeeper Robert Green has thrown his future at Upton Park into doubt after refusing the club’s latest contract offer.

The England stopper still has three years of his current deal to run but the Hammers are keen to commit the 29-year-old to a longer-term deal.

Talks are expected to continue throughout the summer but the news will interest a number of Premier League admirers, including Arsenal.

Stuttgart eye Pavlychenko
TOTTENHAM striker Roman Pavlychenko is a target for German club Stuttgart.

The Russian netted only nine Premier League goals since joining last August and has dropped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane with the arrivals of Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane.

Stuttgart general manager Horst Heldt said: “Pavlyuchenko is an interesting player. His name has come up in discussions within the club.”

Barca aim to hijack Villa deal
BARCELONA admit they are in “open talks” to steal Valencia’s £40m-rated striker David Villa from under the noses of rivals Real Madrid.

Villa was thought to be the next piece of Real’s galacticos at the Bernabeu under new president Florentino Perez, but Barca vice-president Rafael Yuste said of Villa: “There are many players who are interested in coming to play at Barcelona and I think that people have to know this. The talks are absolutely open.”

Shinawatra denies Pompey link
FORMER Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra has denied any link, or indeed interest, in a possible takeover of Portsmouth.

Reports have linked the former Thai prime minister with Sulaiman Al-Fahim’s bid for the club, but Shinawtra said: “I am not involved with Sulaiman Al-Fahim’s bid in any way. I have no interest in Portsmouth and I have no plans to become involved in any club in the future.”
