Strong earnings lift sentiment and boost London markets

A string of strong corporate earnings boosted investor sentiment and lifted London markets this morning.

The capital’s premier FTSE 100 index climbed 0.75 per cent to 7,277.19 points, while the mid-cap FTSE 250 rose by the same amount to hit 23,113.57 points.
