Former EasyJet owner Stelios Haji-Ioannou is back at the airport, but this time with a ground-based shuttle. His easyBus launches a Heathrow-to-London bus service next month, with fares from just £1.

The service will operate at least 90 times per day from 1 July, between Heathrow’s Central Bus Station and west London’s Shepherd’s Bush.

Normal rates start at £2 for easyBus airport services, but to celebrate the launch tickets for travel between 1 and 14 July will be sold for just £1 each.

Just don’t be fooled by the tantalising prices. Though fares start at £2 for a single ticket, you’d have to book months in advance for that.

Book closer to your travelling date and rates could quadruple.

EasyBus chief executive Peter Hayes told The Capitalist: “Obviously if you book three months in advance the prices will be lower, whereas if you leave it till the day or week before, you’re looking at closer to £8 or £9.”
